ZRBG Ghetto Pension recipients -- the ZRBG laws have changed!

Germany has begun sending information letters to current ZRBG recipients that provide details regarding pension recalculations based on a recent amendment that makes all ZRBG pensions retroactive to 1997.

The new law means that many Ghetto Pension recipients will be eligible for an additional back payment, in addition to their ongoing pension payments.  The new law also makes pensions available to survivors of the Shanghai ghetto and certain ghettos in Romania and Slovakia.

The impact of the amendment is different for every claim. Germany's information letter sets forth the facts for each individual.

The letters are being sent on a "rolling" basis.  If you think you are eligible for reassessment of your Ghetto Pension and you have not received a letter from Germany by January 1, 2015, the Holocaust Survivors Justice Network can assist you.
